Nick (he/they) is a practicing Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), and the first Certified Sex Therapist with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counsellors, and Therapists (AASECT) to be based out of Central Alberta. Nick has experience/specialized training in various settings providing psychological support to a wide demographic of individuals and relationship systems about navigating sexuality, gender diversity, relationship trauma, and other general mental health concerns. Nick has a strong passion about working in the realm of sex therapy.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Athabasca University & a Master of Arts in Applied Psychological Science from Pacific University (Hillsboro, Oregon). These specific degrees have influenced Nick to take a strong focus on evidence-based practice in his therapeutic approach.
Nick is passionate about helping his clients figure out the way they can live their lives as authentically as possible so they can achieve their maximum potential. He focuses on developing a relationship through keeping a casual style as life’s nuances are explored. Nick enjoys using sex therapy, affirmative therapy, relationship therapy, mindfulness, exposure, cognitive, and many other types of therapy to aid clients in achieving their goals.
When Nick is not at the office, he loves spending time with his family which consists of his wife, their two rabbits (Daisy & Chewie), and cat (Luna). Nick loves finding new hiking or biking trails to explore in our beautiful region. You are likely to find Nick active in Central Alberta as he seeks out unique and delicious culinary experiences in our area as he identifies as a foodie. Nick loves music so on his days off, he will be jamming out to some tunes or playing one of his many musical instruments. Nick is also an Oilers fan so expect to see some orange and blue if you see him on game days.
